Assessing the health of children’s eyes and vision is especially important at Taylor Eye Care. One in four children has a vision problem that may interfere with learning and development. This is why our younger patients receive special attention.

Children should have their first examination between 6-12 months of age. If no problems are noted during the exam, children should be examined again at age 3 and then again before entering school. The comprehensive examination performed before children enter school meets the requirements for the pre-kindergarten eye examination required of all children by the State of Illinois.

Taylor Eye Care participates in the InfantSEE® program sponsored by the American Optometric Association. Through InfantSEE®, Dr. Taylor provides a one-time, comprehensive eye assessment to infants in their first year of life, offering early detection of potential eye and vision problems at no cost regardless of income.
