Anti-reflective or AR lenses, reduce eye fatigue especially when viewing computer screens, working under fluorescent lighting, and driving at night.
Ultraviolet (UV) sunrays may contribute to the forming of cataracts and macular degeneration. Lenses with UV protection are like putting sunscreen on your eyes! High-index and high-impact resistant lenses provide UV protection inherently in the lens material while plastic lenses may require a UV coating.
This coating protects lenses from everyday wear-and-tear. Some materials, such as high-impact resistant, high-index, and some plastic lenses include scratch protection.
Photochromic lenses darken and lighten according to light exposure. Photochromic lenses are available in most all lens materials and lens designs.
For exposure to bright lights outdoors, polarized lenses eliminate glare and ease eye stress from the sun. Intense sunlight glare from water, sand, snow, windows, vehicles, and buildings is virtually eliminated with polarized lenses, and they come in several color and density options.
For reflective lenses that make the eye virtually invisible to viewers, mirrored lenses are “cool” while they protect from heat and glare. Mirrors come in a variety of colors.
Lenses can be tinted from light to very dark, solid or gradient. Tints are available in a spectrum of colors.

Sports & Safety Lenses
When work, hobbies, or recreation require visual protection and performance, special lenses or goggles are available for industrial and occupational purposes, computer viewing, and sports activities such as snow and water skiing, hunting and sport shooting, basketball, football, and other activities.
These lenses have a uniform focal power from top to bottom and correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or a combination of these disorders. This multi-purpose lens is available in all materials.
Multifocals (Bifocals and Trifocals)
Multifocal lenses have more than one focus in a single lens to correct both distance and near vision.
Another type of multifocal lens, progressive no-lines has no visible dividing line as the focus changes from top to bottom. They have the appearance of single vision glasses offering correction for far, intermediate, and near vision in one lens. Progressives are available in all lens materials.
This lens design offers edge-to-edge visual clarity meaning that as the eyes move, vision will not blur toward the edge of the lenses. Aspheric lenses are available in single vision, bifocal, and progressive-addition designs.
